Bengaluru, October 16 2023: Meesho, India’s only true e-commerce marketplace, witnessed a spectacular festive sale during its flagship ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale’ live from October 6 to October 15, 2023. With an extensive array of quality products at affordable prices, and in categories which are largely non-electronic led, the Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale helped fulfill the festive shopping aspirations of billions of Indians and amplified Meesho's unique market position.
With 120 crore customer visits, categories such as Home & Kitchen, Fashion as well as Beauty & Personal Care garnered more than 72 orders per second. During the Mega Blockbuster Sale, Meesho saw 1.6 crore new app installs. Customers shopped for festive decorations such as jharokhas, diya thalis, rangoli stencils, torans, lanterns and string lights. The company saw 80% of orders coming from from the length and breadth of the country, including cities like Amravati, Aurangabad, Dehradun, Nellore, Solapur, and Warangal.
With orders coming in from across the country, small businesses on Meesho witnessed significant growth during the festive sale event. Ahead of the Mega Blockbuster Sale, Meesho has onboarded nearly 2 lakh new sellers. Nearly 30,000 sellers became lakhpatis during the sale event.
The company also saw its recent offering for branded products ‘Meesho Mall’ witness 3X growth in orders over business-as-usual (BAU) days. Regional and value brands alike are seeing growth across categories such as Personal Care & Beauty, Footwear, Apparel and Electronic Accessories. Nearly 70% of these orders came from first-time Mall users, reinforcing our goal to become an enabler for several emerging and regional brands looking to tap a larger audience across the country. 88% of new users shopped from the recently launched ‘Meesho Gold’ which includes a vast selection of trusted quality products across categories such as Ethnic Wear, Jewelry as well as Home & Kitchen. Ahead of the festive season, Meesho launched an innovative Loyalty Program which provides users with a seamless shopping experience throughout the festive season and helps them engage better with Meesho’s diverse product portfolio. Under the Loyalty Program, customers have placed ~1.4 crore orders and were rewarded smartcoins worth INR ~50 crores.

During the festive sale, the little ones took center stage as parents and families celebrated with an upsurge in kids' wear purchases by 114%. With the ongoing Cricket World Cup, customers flocked to purchase a wide range of products including team jerseys, cricket bats, gloves, bat tape, umpire counter, stumps, wickets and caps.
Meesho’s Maha Diwali Sale will be live between October 27th to 31st October. With nearly 14 lakh sellers and ~12 crore product listings across 30 categories, Meesho aims to ensure that customers across India have a plethora of affordable options to choose from this festive season.
